Graduation Ceremony Speech

Dear Graduates,
It is a pleasure to speak to you at this graduation ceremony. Every single one of you looks fabulous today, young ladies in gorgeous gowns, handsome young gentlemen in suits, and everyone having such a beautiful smile on the face. I have known you for only less than one year, but it has been a wonderful year. There are some wonderful pieces of memories that I will keep in my memory box. So first of all I would like to say thank you all.
Most of you will start your undergraduate studies soon after this summer. You might have been looking forward to starting university for a long time. But I hope after a year or two, when you look back, you could still remember this is where your dream began, this is where your dream took flight, and this is where you had so much joy and fun. As one of the teachers, I am looking forward to the day, when someday someone of you might come back and visit us and share with us some interesting stories of yours in the university. We will miss you, because we love you, and I hope you feel the same way too.
However, it is time for you to move forward. You will be starting new life in different places of all around the world, Britain, North America, Australia, and so on. University life is going to be very different. There will be no class teachers nagging to you that you shall not play with your mobile phones, or that you shall not skip classes, or that you must do your homework. You have the freedom to do whatever you want. You will make new friends from different cultures, you will have night lives that you would not imagine before. Boys start to hang out with girls, girls find boyfriends, or maybe boys with boys, who knows? University can be a place filled with all sorts of excitements and surprises for you.
However, university life can be very challenging as well, if you want to learn a skill or two. You might find it not easy to survive. When life gets tough, ask yourself these questions. What do you want? Will you choose a life of ease, or a life with adventures? Will you give up, or will you keep on making efforts? You can choose to sit back and rely on someone else whatsoever. But by trying out your limits you will learn what you can do and what you cannot. By trying out your limits, you will know your strengths and weaknesses. By trying out your limits, you can climb up to higher mountains, and you will see farther. Then you might find there are many platforms down there that you can easily get to. You might eventually choose the one platform on which you have wanted to lie down before, but once you know where your real potentials are, you can make wiser choices because you have broader horizons. If there is one tip that you would like to take away from me, I will tell you exactly the same thing that I have told you at the opening ceremony speech at the beginning of this semester, try your best, three simple worlds, try your best and leave no regrets.
For final words, I would like to quote a few lines from movies. As you may know, the Lion King is one of my favourite movies. I would like to quote what Mufasa says to the little Simba. Remember who you are, and take your place in the circle of life. And lastly, I would like to wish you the best of luck with your future! May the force be with you!
